At the BauSIM 2024 in Vienna the paper "Revolutionizing Heating Planning: A Data-Driven Approach for Accurate and Scalable Energy Consumption Predictions", which describes the methodology of the substitute model for building-specific simulations in the EnergyMap Berlin project, was presented to a specialist audience from science and research. BauSIM is organized every two years under the auspices of IBPSA (International Building Simulation Association) and IBPSA-DACH includes the countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The conference focuses on simulation methods for buildings, neighborhoods and cities for a successful transformation of the building stock to climate neutrality with high resident satisfaction, security of supply and resilience in a changing world.
Maptime Berlin x Open Data Day 2024 took place at CityLAB Berlin on 29.2.2024. The team of EnergyMap Berlin presented current developments from our project to a passionate audience of map and open data enthusiasts. Thank you again for your keen interest in our project!
From October 10th to 12th, 2023, the InterGeo 2023, the international trade fair for the geospatial industry, took place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. EnergyMap Berlin was represented at the booth of our project partner LUP GmbH. There, we demonstrated the first prototype of the EnergyMap. Thank you for the opportunity!
On 27.03.2023 the second project advisory board meeting of the EnergyMap Berlin project took place. Two new members were elected to the project advisory board, who come from the energy supply and tenants' association sectors. In the project advisory board meeting, the status of the work packages was discussed and the procedure, methodology and data basis were discussed in detail. The aim of the project advisory board is to accompany and advise the research project with experts from different areas of municipal heating planning.
On 23.02.2023, on Mierendorff Island, the INSEL-Conference was hold at which the EnergyMap Berlin was also presented. On this occasion, the questionnaires for collecting building parameters and energy consumption data for residential and non-residential buildings, which are used to analyse the building stock of Mierendorff Island, were presented to the participants.
On 26.01.2023 at the BOL-Symposium the EnergyMap project was presented. The Berlin Open Lab (BOL) is an experimental space for transdisciplinary research projects at the interface of technology, society and art on the Charlottenburg campus in Berlin. The BOL Symposium provides a platform to present findings from current research projects.
On 01.11.2022 "Aktionskreis Energie" invited to the educational lecture "Wärmekataster als Instrument einer kommunalen Wärmewende". The project EnergyMap was presented by representatives of the district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, the University of the Arts Berlin as well as co2online and was discussed with the audience afterwards.
Following the kick-off event, the first project advisory board meeting of the EnergyMap Berlin project was held. The project advisory board is a group of about 10 experts with representatives from the Berlin administration, the energy suppliers, science, the real estate industry and the tenants' association, which accompanies and advises the research project.
On 20.06.2022 the Kick-off event on the EnergyMap project took place on the Mierendorffinsel. The event started with a presentation by project leader Prof. Dr. Nytsch-Geusen from the UdK Berlin about the project, the motivation, the state of research so far as well as the AI approach and the project goals. The lecture "Berlin on the way to the heat turnaround" by Mr. Färber from the SenUMVK department for climate protection and climate adaptation as well as the lecture "Wärmekataster Hamburg und Energienutzungsplan München" by Dr. Sandrock from the Hamburg Institute underlined the necessity of building-specific heat registers for the optimization of municipal heat planning. Prof. Dr. Streblow's lecture "Methods for heat demand analysis of urban quarters" impressively demonstrated the state of research at RWTH Aachen University on neighborhood simulations.
The joint project EnergyMap Berlin is coordinated by the project partner UdK Berlin.
