href=\"https:\/\/www.co2ol-islands.de\/\">CO2OL ISLANDS<\/a> (Duration: 2026\u20132030) Partners from academia, public administration, and industry are developing innovative solutions for climate-resilient urban development. The goal is to optimize cooling and reduce CO\u2082 emissions in urban districts through the intelligent integration of geothermal systems, climate-adapted vegetation, and efficient energy distribution networks. At the core of the project is the development of intuitive, web-based software designed to assist municipal administrations in planning and evaluating measures to mitigate urban heat island effects, thereby accelerating decision-making processes. Leveraging AI-assisted image recognition, building modeling, neural networks, and modern geographic information systems, innovative tools are being created to facilitate the planning of sustainable cooling strategies in cities. Funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), the project runs from 2026 to 2029 and is being implemented in the model regions of Stuttgart, Korbach, and Berlin. BauSIM is organized every two years under the auspices of IBPSA (International Building Simulation Association) and IBPSA-DACH includes the countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Two new members were elected to the project advisory board, who come from the energy supply and tenants' association sectors.  In the project advisory board meeting, the status of the work packages was discussed and the procedure, methodology and data basis were discussed in detail.
